“It is common in United States” this is the phrase from an American girl when we talk about her family structure. She is one of fifteen people at church, who participated in my survey on American family several weeks ago. Also, she told me that her boyfriend has the similar family background: that of a divorced family. After this survey, I searched on the internet to find out the information about this. The result is amazing to me that in some Chinese cities almost 40% of families ended with divorce, there are also some places with high divorce rate in United States. Although this is not a new phenomenon covered all over the world; nowadays, with social development, rising divorce rate has caused society pay more attention to divorce again. As far as I am concerned, the causes of rising divorce rate are so many, ranged from big important issues to some trivial things. Generally, rising divorce rate has resulted from both social and personal factors.
The primary thing to cause rising divorce rate is increased misunderstanding between couple. With the development of society, there is a dramatic change on the individual sense of value. People are willing to receive new things instead of being conservative as before, such as marriage. As a result, young couple falls in love quickly and so does as get married. In fact, they didn’t understand each other, gradually; the block is formed between both sides. Thus, this family is likely to end with divorce. The famous singer Britney is an obvious example about “quickly family”. We usually see the news reported that she made divorce with her husband who just got married with her only three mouths ago.
Anther aspect to cause rising divorce is more and more pressure from society. Dramatic social development means increased competition. People pay all attention to their work in order to avoid to be eliminated through competition; however, they ignore the relationship in the family. Couple with whole day hard work might go to bed as soon as come back home. Nobody would like to cook the meal; nobody is willing to clean the house; even if nobody says a word about taking care for the other. Both don’t want to be responsible for housework which is required in a family because they are too tired on both spirit and physically. Furthermore, couple usually has a terrific domestic row due to a senseless trivia. They are supposed to find a way to release their bother form the work; unfortunately, there are some quarrels which result in the division of affection in the end.
Nowadays, making divorce is not complicated process. The reason caused divorce is more and more simple, even just a little quarrel. However, there is not easily to resume the formerly family by several sentences. I don’t know if all the couples decided to divorce before long time thinking. In fact, the effect of rising divorce rate to society is serious, as soon as there is big influence on the children of the divorce family.
